Quick Overview #

Avantage files for many data types contain a group of spectra within a single vamas file. This includes depth profiles data, mapping data, line scan data, multipoint analysis, and iterative scans.

Scrolling Between Spectra #

The arrows below the spectral window allow you to move between spectra within a multiple dataset block.

Switching Between Etch Time and Etch Level in Depth Profiles #

Data blocks can be viewed in terms of the etch level, or total etch time, for depth profiles. Use the dropdown menu next to the arrow keys to transition.

Overlaying and Stacking Spectra #

Use the options in the ‘display mode’ container, in the top right of the screen, to overlay and stack.

Mapping and Imaging Blocks #

When dealing with an imaging file, the arrow buttons move the recorded intensity of each binding energy step. You can also type an energy into the box to go directly to an energy.

Cropping Data from File #

If you want to crop a range of data in a multilevel file (e.g. a depth profile), you can use the ‘Collapse Multi Level’ option in the ‘Utilities’ tab. For example, selecting etch time in this menu allows us to remove all data outside of a specified range.
